The Global Golfer Top 100
Kennemer Golf & Country Club
Zandvoort, Netherlands  ·  #36 in the World

Location: Kennemer, Zandvoort, Netherlands  |  Ranking: #36 — The Global Golfer Top 100
Type: Duneland Links  |  Designer: Harry Colt (1927)

Editor’s Note: Harry Colt built Kennemer in the vast North Sea dune system above Zandvoort — the same dunes that shelter the Dutch coast from the North Sea. The three nines provide 27 holes of exceptional links golf; the Championship Course (combining the P and Q nines) is consistently rated one of the finest courses in continental Europe. Famously close to Amsterdam, it remains one of the great undiscovered golf destinations for UK visitors.

Key Strategy Notes & 19th Hole

  • The Dunes: Kennemer’s duneland is among the most dramatic in continental Europe — 40-foot ridges frame multiple holes. The North Sea wind is ever-present and directionally variable throughout the round.
  • Amsterdam: 30 minutes from Kennemer — the Rijksmuseum, canal houses, Jordaan district dining and the finest Indonesian food in Europe. The most complete golf-culture combination in northern Europe. Amsterdam hotels via Expedia →
