Editor’s Note: Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club sits 1,500 metres above sea level in the Swiss Alps — every hole has views of the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and the Valais peaks. Seve Ballesteros redesigned the Severino Course here in 1986 and created one of the most visually spectacular courses in European golf. Host of the European Masters since 1939, it is the sport’s most consistently beautiful tournament venue.

Key Notes & 19th Hole
- Altitude Effect: Ball carries 10–12% further at 1,500m — subtract 1–2 clubs on all approach shots. The thin alpine air is disorienting until you recalibrate after a few holes.
- The Views: The Matterhorn is visible from the 4th and 7th tees — a genuinely jaw-dropping backdrop that makes concentration on the golf genuinely difficult in the best possible way.
