The Alto Club
Elevated, pine-lined Sotogrande golf beside SO/ Sotogrande, supported by one of the region’s most complete modern practice environments.
Creativity through elevation and landscape
The Alto Club rewards control more than brute force. Pine trees, water and changing elevation influence the line from the tee, while the two nines offer distinct rhythms. Keep the ball below the hole when possible and treat downhill yardages and sidehill lies as part of the design.
Build the round around position
Choose the next-shot angle
Playing approach: take the club that holds the widest part of the fairway. A shorter shot from the correct side is more valuable than extra distance blocked by pines or compromised by a sidehill stance.
Commit to the conservative carry
Playing approach: establish the true carry before choosing the aggressive line. Elevation can disguise distance; when water enters play, favour the largest usable section of the green and leave the difficult flag alone.
