Editor’s Note: Bandon Trails is the inland course of the Bandon Dunes resort — through native forest, Scotch broom meadows and coastal dunes. While Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes capture the drama of ocean cliff golf, Bandon Trails delivers the most architecturally sophisticated experience on the property. Coore and Crenshaw’s routing uses every change in terrain; no two consecutive holes feel alike. Many regular Bandon visitors quietly rate it their favourite of the five courses.

Key Strategy Notes
- The Terrain Variety: Forest holes, dune holes, meadow holes and open heathland — Bandon Trails packs more landscape variety into 18 holes than any other course at the resort. The routing constantly surprises.
- Hole 16 — Par 3, 195 Yards: From an elevated tee through a natural dune corridor — the most purely architectural short hole at Bandon. Coore and Crenshaw’s green complex is among their finest anywhere.
- Strategy: Play the ground game throughout — firm Oregon turf rewards bump-and-run approaches on virtually every hole.
