Use the width intelligently
La Reserva looks generous from many tees, but the correct side of the fairway determines the approach. Elevation changes club selection, large greens make putting position important and water turns the boldest line into a meaningful decision.
Two holes that demand a clear plan
Do not chase length towards water
Club guidance: water runs down the right and continues beside the large, contoured green. Choose a tee shot that keeps the ball in play and accept the longer approach rather than creating a penalty from misplaced aggression.
Play the tier, not merely the yardage
Club guidance: water wraps around more than two sides, three bunkers protect the target and the huge green contains three defined levels. Identify the correct tier before selecting the club; centre-green is not automatically safe.
Know the carry into the elevated green
Club guidance: the tee shot must find a tight landing area between bunkers. The second climbs to a strongly elevated, undulating green, so use the adjusted yardage—not the visual impression—and favour the centre when the flag is tucked.
