What to expect
Oitavos Dunes moves through three distinct landscape types: sheltered pine forest, exposed sandy ground and more open Atlantic-facing terrain. That makes wind direction and trajectory control more important than raw distance alone.
The front nine gradually opens toward the sea, while the closing stretch brings more exposed views and a stronger sense of the Atlantic. The course rewards golfers who can vary flight and landing angle, especially when the breeze strengthens.

The Oitavos hotel sits beside the course, and the current official golf site continues to offer Stay & Play packages. That makes it a straightforward base for an early tee time or a golf-first short break.
Play
Use Oitavos as the headline round, then build the rest of the Lisbon Coast swing around weather and transfer time. Current practice facilities include a 300-metre driving range plus short-game areas.
Recover
For recovery, keep the day simple: use the hotel and resort environment after golf rather than adding a long transfer. If wellness facilities are important to your stay, reconfirm the exact current hotel offering directly before travel.
