Penha Longa Atlantic Championship sits within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and forms the main 18-hole championship circuit at Penha Longa Resort. Current first-party resort information confirms the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, its 1992 opening, active reservations and current practice facilities.

Why include it in a Lisbon Coast trip

Penha Longa works naturally with a Cascais and Sintra itinerary because golf, hotel, spa and dining can be kept on one site while Lisbon remains within reach. The course uses the contours of the Sintra hills, giving it a different feel from the more exposed Atlantic-facing golf around Cascais.

The resort provides on-site accommodation and current spa facilities, so the golf day can be combined with recovery without another transfer. Penha Longa Spa is currently described by the resort as a 1,500-square-metre facility with nine treatment rooms and appointment-based opening hours.
