Location: Sun City, North West Province, South Africa | Ranking: #57
Type: Resort / bushveld | Designer: Gary Player
Editor’s Note: The Lost City Golf Course is one of Sun City’s two distinctive golf experiences. Its bushveld setting, dramatic resort architecture and unusual par-three 13th give it a character unlike conventional parkland or links golf.

- Access: Sun City requires an onward road transfer from the Johannesburg/Pretoria region or other chosen gateway; journey times vary.
Course Character
The routing combines resort golf with bushveld terrain, elevation and water. The par-three 13th is particularly well known for the crocodile habitat associated with its water hazard; golfers should follow all current on-site safety guidance and never attempt to retrieve balls from restricted areas.
Key Notes & 19th Hole
- Wildlife: this is a managed resort environment within a region where wildlife is part of the wider experience. Follow staff instructions and current safety signage.
- Two-course destination: Sun City also offers the Gary Player Country Club, allowing a multi-round itinerary from one resort base.
- Stay · Play · Recover: accommodation, dining, pools and resort facilities make Sun City naturally suited to a longer golf stay; confirm current packages directly rather than relying on fixed historic pricing or a generic Expedia CTA.
