Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE | Ranking: #90
Designer: Peter Harradine (2000) | Type: Desert Parkland | Green Fees: From AED 500
Editor’s Note: Abu Dhabi Golf Club is most famous for its falcon-shaped clubhouse — one of the most architecturally distinctive structures in world golf — but the National Course beneath it is a serious championship layout. Host of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, it has challenged every world number one since the event began. The sprawling layout across the Abu Dhabi desert, with the city skyline as backdrop on the closing holes, creates a genuinely unique atmosphere.

Key Notes & 19th Hole
- The Falcon Clubhouse: Designed to resemble a falcon in flight — the UAE’s national bird — the clubhouse is one of the most photographed structures in Middle East golf and provides exceptional views over the course from its upper floors.
- HSBC Championship: Rory McIlroy has won here multiple times; the tournament regularly produces the lowest aggregate scoring on the DP World Tour schedule due to the benign winter conditions and receptive fairways.
- Emirates Palace (5★ Mandarin Oriental): Abu Dhabi’s most spectacular hotel — 20 minutes from the club. The gold-dusted cappuccino is obligatory. Book via Expedia →
